Mr. Subhasish Chakraborty is the founder & CMD of DTDC Courier and Cargo Ltd and is the guiding force behind DTDC, responsible for providing strategic direction and growth of the company.

 

A Gold medallist in Chemistry from Calcutta University, he started his career as a freelancer with M/s. Peerless General Finance & Insurance Company & continued there for 6 years rising to the senior level in the company's hierarchy.

 

In the early 80's, Mr. Chakraborty migrated to Bangalore and subsequently ventured into the courier business. With his sheer determination and hard work and the support of Board members, Management team, Employees and franchisees, DTDC became a realty in the year 1990 and in 1994 the company was registered as a Public Ltd company.

 

His leadership skills and vision, has made DTDC grow from a mere start-up enterprise to a company with Rs 226 crore market share, making it one of the leading domestic courier companies in India.

 

He has been instrumental in placing DTDC on the global courier industry map. Under Mr. Chakraborty's guidance DTDC has extended its service network around the world with its own and associate offices at prime gateways in USA, U.K., Europe, Singapore, Dubai, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Hong Kong & China.

 

He pioneered the franchisee concept in the courier industry, which has resulted an excellent network of channel presence from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Jamnagar to Itanagar giving entrepreneurship opportunities to more than 3,700 Franchisees.

 

Apart from being the Chairman and Managing Director of DTDC Ltd, Mr Chakraborthy is also the Chairman of Millennium Motors Pvt. Ltd., Managing Partner of Max Adhesives, Managing Partner of Adhesive Specialties, Chairman of SMS Courier Ltd, Managing Partner of Unique Express and Hon Secretary of Express Industry Council of India.

 

An individual of strong business acumen, he believes in the power of training and enjoys conducting training and development programmes for senior managers, executives and franchisees.

 

An ardent fan of football and cricket, he is the President of DTDC Tollygunge Agragami & DTDC Sports Club, which is affiliated to KSCA, Bangalore in the 1st Division League. He also enjoys music, traveling & reading. Mr Chakraborty is 52 years old & lives in Bangalore with his family.

Suresh Bansal joined DTDC Board in March 2006. He is a full time Executive Director and Head of Marketing and International Business. He is a Green Card holder and moved from USA to lead DTDC team in India. Prior to joining DTDC, India, Mr. Bansal was Director on the board of DTDC Express Inc. New York. As a commitment to the organization, Mr. Bansal has made investments in DTDC New York as well as DTDC India. Before moving to USA, Mr. Bansal lived in London and Mumbai.

Suresh Bansal, a management specialist, is a visionary, dynamic and result oriented professional with over 25 years of international management experience. He has lead and managed Global companies in India, Europe and North America. He has set up business and managed relationships with companies in Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Australia and Singapore. His biggest achievement is in setting up state of the art off shore development facilities in India used by IBM, Citibank, Informix, BP and many others.

 

His experience in team building, corporate planning, implementation and general management is outstanding. Building long term strategic development plan for global organization is his forte. He was directly responsible to build and implement ISO9000 and CMM level practices for off shore facilities.

 

He has been Chairman and Group CEO for Melstar Information Technologies Ltd., Bansal heads a team of 400 people, four SBU's spread over US, Europe and Asia. His special contribution in listing the company on National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange are significant. He successfully completed and integrated the acquisitions and merger of an American Company in US and a British company in UK.

 

Suresh appeared on CNBC, Starnews, Zee and Doordarshan channels several times. He has been covered by News Papers and Magazines such as Economic Times, Dataquest, Computers Today and other press by over 200 times. He is on several management committees, associations and speaker in national and international platform.

 

He is on the Board of Melstar Information Technologies Limited, DTDC Worldwide Ltd., DTDC Express Inc., New York, Desk to Desk Courier and Cargo Limited, UK.

 

Suresh is a Commerce Graduate from Bombay University. He then did his Diploma in Business and Industrial Management. He completed his Advance Management Program from ISB. Suresh has attended several training courses from world class institutes such as Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Administrative Staff College of India and Qualified Learning Systems Inc. USA.
